Subject: What a Night
Subject: What a Night
Phil was carrying the torch and passing it on. I think this was a Jimmy/Warren show, and of course Molo, Barraco...incredible line-up. We got to the show and had to score a ticket and L. Ticket was not easy,it being a Saturday and beautiful New England fall night. We managed; found some guy from GD land with a sheet his friend had "just drawn". Looked like some weird scribbles to us but we were thankful and felt it had a good pedigree. The venue was this gym on the corner of a semi-major intersection in Burlington. I can't capture the feeling inside except to say really mellow, good vibe and I thought I could see the wind coming in from these windows near the roof..i definitely felt it. I really don't remember much from the first set except the breeze blowing through the place..it was tangible in a way that i felt influenced everyone and the music...this may seem obvious, but I imagine I can hear the wind blowing through the whole second set as I listen now. The second set opened with a sweet "Rolling Stone". Everyone in the place went nuts when Phil broke into the first chorus. Lazy River Road was sublime to say the least...let's hear it for this recording. Thank you. The Eleven. Golden Road. Bid You Goodnight..yes it was and tie it all up with a little Wolfman's Brother and you have one for the ages. We spent the rest of the night listening to packs of Eastern coyotes yelp to the point that you could hear words coming through the cacophony. Thanks Phil!
